Kathleen Barclay is Principal of Asesorías KCB Ltda., an organization focused on strategic advisory for business between the United States and Latin America. She is Chairman of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Chile – AmCham Chile. Ms. Barclay is also the Chairman of Austral Capital and is a member of the Boards of Directors of Bicecorp, Banco Bice, and Geomar S.A., in addition to the board of Banco Caja Social in Bogotá, Colombia. Additionally, Ms. Barclay is active in cultural and academic affairs including participation as a member of the Advisory Editorial Committee of El Diario Financiero, a member of the Board of the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, a member of the Advisory Board of the Centro de Estudios Públicos, and a member of the Advisory Board of Endeavor-Chile, as well as a member of Chile Global Angels. She is a member of the Council of the Americas and the US Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she serves as a member of the Advisory Council to the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) for its Karukinka project in Chile.
Prior to 2001, Ms. Barclay had a 23-year career in J. P. Morgan Chase including assignments in New York, London, and Santiago. She ran the Latin American Corporate Credit Area in the early 1980s, was Director of Investment Banking in London covering Latin American multinational advisory and capital markets from 1988-1992. From 1992 through 2000, Ms. Barclay was responsible for the Bank’s business in Chile with an emphasis on cross-border transactions and investment banking services.
She has a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C with a focus in international economics.
Juan Pablo Schwencke, founding partner at Aninat Schwencke & Cia., has practiced in Latin America, the United States, and Europe. He was a foreign associate at Cleary Gottlieb´s offices in New York, Miami and Frankfurt. Juan Pablo is an expert in cross-border M&A and financing transactions. He has successfully represented clients in a variety of M&A, project finance, and banking transactions, mining operations, insolvency and debt restructuring transactions, cross-border litigation, arbitration, taxation, and labour matters. He has also counseled many domestic and international corporations, banks, financial institutions and multinational organizations including Alliance Capital, Acon Investments, Alvarion, American Bridge, Balfour Beatty Rail Projects, Subway, Heidelberg Druckmaschinen (printing), Banco Santander, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan Chase (London), Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, The Inter-American Investment Corporation (a branch of the Inter-American Development Bank), WPP Group, Power Machines, Empresas CMPC (pulp and forest), ESVAL (water and wastewater), CAP (steel) and ENDESA (electricity), among others.
During his career, Mr. Schwencke has also served as director on several boards of broadcasting, fruit, construction, public relations and advertising companies. Currently, he seats on the board of directors of CAF Chile, Austral Capital, Balfour Beatty Rail Chile, Hill + Knowlton Strategies, Young & Rubicam Chile, Cranberries Austral, South-Am Freeze Dry, Genera Austral, among others. He also acts as an adviser to Inder Capital, Austral Capital and Acon Investments, among other firms.
Marcos is CEO of Fundación Chile since 2006, a Chilean organization dedicated to the development and promotion of innovative industries in Chile including mining, energy and sustainability. He previously worked at CB Capitales, CMPC Tissue and Visa International. He is also a member of the Open Innovation Forum Berkeley, Institute of High Scale Innovations, director of the Pro Innovation Forum and mentor at the Legatum Center at MIT.
Marcos holds a Business Administration degree from the Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master in Business Administration from University of Berkeley, California.
Erwin has more than twelve years of experience in the financial industry. He is founding partner of Boronig Financial Advisory (BLFA), a company dedicated to providing financial services to companies of various economic sectors. He has an outstanding track record in business valuation, business development and financing, specializing in medium size companies based in Chile. Before BLFA, Erwin worked at Banmerchant and Banco Edwards, both well recognized financial institutions in Chile.
Erwin holds an agronomist degree from the Universidad Católica de Chile.
Christian is currently CFO at Maingroup S.A., a Chilean holding company with investments in the food industry, and was CFO at Austral Capital for five years. He oversaw the company’s operations in the region. Prior to his arrival at Austral Capital, he worked in planning and business development at Soquimich (SQM) as well as strategic analyst at Accenture.
Christian holds an engineering and Master of Science degree from the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Chile.
